It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Donald Arthur Foster, of Emo, Ont., on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Don was born April 18, 1930 in Moose Jaw, Sask. to Arthur and Laura Foster.
Don was united in marriage to Joan Morvel on Dec. 24, 1952. He and Joan operated their business (Fosters Center) at Clearwater Lake until they moved to Emo in 1988.
He is survived by his sons, Donnie (Tammi) of Emo, Ont. and Jimmie Dean of Fond du Lac, Wis. Also left to cherish his life are his grandchildren, Bridget, Gary (Cheryl), Steven, Brittany, and Jonathan; and great-grandchildren, Sydney, Ashlyn, Jameson, Isabella, and Adalynn.
Don also leaves behind his sisters, Dorothy (Bill) Breadner and Eve (Dan) McLean; brother, Pete Foster; as well as many other close friends and family.
Don was predeceased by his wife, Joan (2011); great-granddaughter, Joanna Nordquist (2012); his parents, Arthur and Laura; sister-in-law, Doris Foster; and brother-in-law, Don Holmgren.
A memorial service took place Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo, with Pastor John Vanderburgh officiating.
Reception followed at the church.
Interment took take place in the Emo Cemetery.
The honourary pallbearers were Harold Ellis, Bill Mosbeck, Pete Foster, Dale Strachan, Bill Breadner, and Russ Fortier.
