It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Patricia Kirk, 57, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, with her family by her side, at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Diny was born March 8, 1957 in Fort Frances to the late Elmer and Helen Eide.
Diny was united in marriage to John Kirk on Nov. 15, 1980. Together they raised two children, whom she loved more than anything.
Diny grew up in Fort France and attended McIrvine, J.W. Walker, and FFHS. She then went on to graduate from nursing and continued her career at La Verendrye Hospital, where she retired due to health.
Diny enjoyed fishing, boating, travelling, and her little shopping trips. But most of all, she loved her time spent with her grandchildren. They were the true light of her life.
Diny is survived by her husband, John Kirk; son, Kristopher (Leah) Kirk of Sioux Lookout, Ont.; and daughter, Lindsay (Richard) Ivanowich of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Delcie Ivanowich, and Liam, Mikaela, and Madison Kirk.
She also leaves to mourn her best friend and sister, Sandy (Gord); brother, Alan (Shawn); brother-in-law, Ray (Linda) Kirk; sister-in-law, Anne (Delbert) Deschamps; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Helen Eide; and sister, Marlene Olson.
A celebration of Diny’s life will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Peggy Mason officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be the dialysis nurses and her dialysis family from La Verendrye Hospital.
