It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Dennis Raymond Perreault, of Couchiching First Nation, Ont., on Saturday, May 10, 2008 after a courageous battle with diabetes and complications of kidney disease.
Dennis was born June 29, 1973 in Fort Frances, Ont., where he resided most of his life. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and nephew.
He is survived by his parents, Merle and Janice Perreault of Couchiching First Nation; two brothers, Derek (Andrea) of Fort Frances, Ont. and Brett (special friend Tanika Norman) of Couchiching First Nation; one sister, Denise (Darren) Bragg of Stratton, Ont.; and grandmother, Janet Perreault of Couchiching First Nation.
Also surviving are three nieces, Samantha Bell-Perreault, and Hailey and Payton Bragg; one nephew, Corburn Bragg; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins; and special friends, Bob and Carol Pollard.
Dennis will be sadly missed by all.
Dennis was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, James Perreault Sr.; maternal grandparents, Stan and Yvonne Walton; uncles, Jerry Walton and Bill Carmody; and aunts, Shelly Walton, Joyce Walton, and Jean Archie.
Before Dennis became ill, he worked as a truck driver for Bob Pollard Trucking. He liked to collect many different types of transport trucks. He also loved the outdoors, especially fishing with his grandpa, which was a great joy of his life.
Dennis loved to going to casino with his mom and Grandma Perreault. He had a great love for NASCAR racing, with his favourite being Dale Earnhart and collecting many memorabilia of him.
Dennis loved to be with his family and friends no matter how he was feeling. Having family get-togethers was a big highlight in his life and he looked forward to them.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Prayers will be offered at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Deacon Bob Grynol will officiate, with burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery at Couchiching First Nation.
The pallbearers will be Ralph Taylor, Sean Morrison, Chuck Maki, Barry Pollard, Darren Pollard, and Rick Pollard.
The honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephew.
