It is with great sorrow that the family of Dennis Brian Kelly announce his passing on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont., at the age of 66.
Dennis was born on July 12, 1942 in Stanleyville, Ont., to the late Edna Mae and Edward Andrew Kelly.
Growing up in Southern Ontario he met Gail French, and together they later began raising their family. Dennis farmed and drove truck for the Randall French Dairy Farm in Perth, Ont.
In 1976 the family moved to Calgary, Alta., where Dennis operated a roofing company for a couple of years. They later moved to Devlin, Ont., where he hobby farmed, and also owned his trucks which he used in building roads for the MNR and for various construction companies. Then he worked in the logging industry for many years.
In his leisure time, Dennis enjoyed fishing and boating on the lakes. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Dennis is survived by his children’s mother, Gail Kelly of Elgin, Ont.; two children, Bryan Kelly of Devlin, Ont., and Kim and husband, Kevin McFayden of Fort Frances, Ont.; and two grandchildren, Ayden Kelly and Logan McFayden.
He is also survived by four brothers, Ernie Kelly and wife Victoria of Mallory Town, Ont., Ron Kelly and wife Ethal of Nappanee, Ont., John Kelly and wife Donna of Calgary, Alta., Fred Kelly and wife Pearl of Westport, Ont.; and two sisters, Jean Day and husband, the late Lawrence Day of Elgin, Ont., Margaret and husband, Grange Grothier of Mallory Town, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place at the Rainy River Cremation Services in Int’l. Falls., MN. A graveside service will be held in Southern Ontario at a later date.
