DAVID ‘LYLE’ LAIDLAW

David “Lyle” Laidlaw, 96, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011 at the Falls Good Samaritan Society.
Lyle was born May 21, 1915 in La Vallee, Ont. He grew up in Fort Frances, Ont., and graduated from Fort Frances High School.
He later graduated from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, Ill. and went on to serve 15 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Lyle married Ann Carriveau on July 21, 1942 in Fort Frances. He joined the Ontario and Minnesota Paper Co. before WWII, then returned to be chief operator of the power station.
In 1947, they moved to International Falls, where he worked for Mando. He retired in 1975 from Boise Cascade as an assistant electrical superintendent.
Lyle was a member of the Electrical Union, Elks Club, and Royal Canadian Legion.
Lyle was predeceased by his wife, Ann Laidlaw; parents, David and Laura Laidlaw; and sisters, Thelma Hunter, Hilda Davidson, and Tina Newton.
He is survived by his special caregiver, JoAnn (Marty) Wuollet of International Falls, Mn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
