David Edward Armit, 87, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at his son’s home in Rush City, Mn.
He was born Nov. 8, 1929 to Alex and Leona Armit and grew up in Fort Frances, Ont.
David loved music and played the drums in many different bands.
He also worked as an electrician in the mill in International Falls, Mn.
David met and married Blanche Gosselin. They lived in Fort Frances for many years, then they moved to Minneapolis, Mn. and started an electrical business.
Years later, they retired and moved to Arizona. They moved back to Minneapolis 10 years later.
When Blanche passed away, David moved in with his son in Rush City.
David is survived by two sons, Larry (Deanna) Armit and Eddie (Lori) Armit; one grandson, Andrew, and one great-grandson, Alex; three sisters, Dodee Peterson (Ron) of Fort Frances, Ont., Joan Krukoski (Bill) of Fort Frances, Ont., and Lynn Armstrong (Jack) of Fort Frances, Ont.; and two brothers, Ray Armit of Fort Frances, Ont. and Dick Armit of Dryden, Ont.
He was predeceased by his sister, Betty McBride; wife, Blanche; and granddaughter, Stacy.
David’s ashes will be interred with Blanche on Sept. 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Riverview Cemetery.
