We are sad to announce the sudden passing of David C. Wilson on Dec. 10, 2009 in Prince Albert, Sask., where he resided for many years.
Dave is survived by his sister, Gloria Sheloff (Jim) of Emo, Ont.; daughters, Carol Anderson (Peter) and Kathy Galusha (Doug), and son, John (Teena), all of International Falls, Mn.; and son, Todd (Julie) of Prince Albert.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Roy, in 1978; his mother, Dorothy, in 1999; his sister, Kay, in 2005; and son, Kevin, in 1994.
Dave was born Feb. 22, 1935 in Emo. He started out on the family farm in Emo, but at a young age he became a forest ranger in Quetico.
He also spent time working on the telephone lines in Emo with his Uncle Bert. as an electrician with Ryan Electric, and with Bell Telephone.
He later moved west to British Columbia, where he logged until he moved to Prince Albert in 1966.
He became a gas pipe fitter with Thorpe Brothers Ltd., where he continued to work until retirement.
Over the years, Dave made many contributions to Prince Albert, as well as to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He was a member of St. John’s Ambulance and a Cub Scout leader.
In later years, he helped with Meals on Wheels, and also enjoyed spending time with his many dear friends and family.
He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loved ones.
