David Andy

In loving memory of David Andy, 63, of Big Grassy First Nation, Ont., who passed away Sunday, June 2, 2002 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
David was born Aug. 14, 1938 in Rainy River, Ont. to John and Olga Andy. He spent most of his life in the Lake of the Woods area working as a guide, commercial fishing, and at various logging camps.
He played hockey as a young man, enjoyed going for long walks, and going fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Rita; adopted children, Greg (Suzette) Andy, Florene (Ron Archie) Andy, and Ronda Andy; grandchildren, Tanya Andy, Juanita Chang, Owen Chang, Justice Andy, Alex Andy, and Baby Boy Andy; great-grandson, Zacharia Matthew Andy; brother, Norman (Anita) Andy; and several nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Rose Andy on Sept. 1, 1997; sisters, Christine Morrison and Louise Gibbson; and brother, Pierre Andy.
A wake will be held at Big Grassy First Nation Community Hall on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 in the evening.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 6, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Big Grassy First Nation Community Hall. Elder Garnet Councillor will officiate, with interment in the Big Grassy First Nation Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary (Ross) Tuesday Jr., Tom (Buckshot) Gibbons, Randy (Goose) Morrison, Christopher Andy, Phillip (Chuck) Andy, and Albert Gibbons.
Honourary pallbearers will be Leonard Morrison, David (D.J.) Bowen Jr., Fred Jack Sr., John Comegan, Dennis (Jr.) Copenace, and Ashley Andy.
