It is with heavy hearts the siblings (Audree, Edna, Ellen, Gerald and Joanne), announce the peaceful passing of their eldest sister, Darlene Warner, on January 9, 2024.
Darlene was born on January 29, 1940, in Rainy River, Ont. She grew up on the family farm in Pinewood, Ont. She attended high school in Rainy River, where she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Warner. They married in May 1959. Darlene and Bob lived in Winnipeg, Man., before moving to Grande Prairie, Alta.

Darlene worked as an aide in a Neo-Natal Unit in Winnipeg. Upon moving to Grande Prairie, she worked in the bakery at the Co-Op Store. In her spare time, she loved her flower gardens, to knit, crochet and do needle point. Many share a special gift of her talents.
Darlene is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Warner of over 64 years; her three children Jim (Deb), Peggy (Rick) and Lynda; four grandchildren Katie, Sean, Olivia and Josie; and a great-granddaughter, Anastasia.
She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Geraldine Smart; and grandson Richard Nicholas Hussey.
A cremation has taken place, there will be no service, as per her request.
