Danny Reynolds

Reynolds, Dan

Danny Reynolds passed away at Birchwood Terrace Care Home in Kenora on November 11, 2020. Born in Desmoines, Iowa in 1950. Danny was one of seven children. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Jean; sister Judy; and brother Mickey. He is survived by brother Steve and wife Mary; brothers Tom, Pat; and his sister Susie and husband Laird; and many nieces and nephews. The family moved to Nestor Falls in 1953 to operate Greens Camps. At the age of 19 and 24 Danny survived two critical car accidents where he suffered from traumatic injuries that required him to go through three years of rehabilitation, learning to walk and talk again.

Even throughout his setbacks, he never let them get him down. Dan has overcome many challenges throughout his life and was always able to maintain a good sense of humour.

As many of you know, Dan was an avid hitchhiker. He often hitchhiked back and forth to Fort Frances, a myriad of kind people gave him rides which he always appreciated.

Armed with his pen and note pad, Dan made many lifelong friends.

He lived in Thunder Bay off and on throughout the years. He volunteered at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. His faith was always very important to him.

Dan’s signature hello and goodbye was flashing a peace sign. I hope he finds his peace.

Due to COVID-19, there will be no service. A memorial for the family will take place at a later date.
