DANIEL “DAN” SOLOMAN BIG GEORGE

MAKWA BIMOSE

Tragically in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 30, 2021, Dan lost his life in a car accident. Dan was on his way to the Barwick Gym, a favourite past time of his.

Makwa Bimose, Atik odoodeman, Naongashiing gii oongii; was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on July 12, 1985.

Dan was an inspiring and charming personality that loved meeting and talking to people. Most importantly he loved to mentor the youth. He understood the importance of language and made an effort to learn from his grandmother Liz; she was so proud of him.
“I remember the smallest gestures; your gentle kiss on my forehead when you thought I was napping on the couch, your teasing when I was too lazy to make breakfast for you. You would jokingly say ‘I’m calling Weechi on you.’ Those expressive eyes of yours always melted my heart, whenever they lit up with joy, or when they were welling with tears. I love you, my boy.”

He is survived by his mother Verna; father Solomon; sister Autumn (Zach) and daughter Laila; grandmothers Agnes and Liz Comegan; extended grandmothers and grandfathers; aunties Vera, Pam (Gerry), Yvette; uncles Wes, Dennis (Maria); cousins David Paul III, Evan, Jordy, Kyle, Dennis, Justin, Justis, Azrael, Charity, Ryan, Alex, Kelly, Alia, Summer; friends/brothers Shawn, Stevan, Scott, Joey; friends/sisters Cindy; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
