DANA FJELDSTED

It is with great sorrow that the family of Dana Fjeldsted, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend, announces her sudden passing on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011.
Dana was born Sept. 30, 1981. She grew up in Fort Frances, Ont. until 1990, when she relocated with her family to Red Lake, Ont.
Dana attended the University of Western Ontario in London, Ont.
As a high school student, through her university years, and following graduation, she worked for the Ministry of Natural Resources fire program. In 2009, she relocated to Dryden, Ont. as the Fire Management Clerk.
Dana loved her family, her friends, and life. Her circle of friends was enormous. Once you met Dana, she never forgot you or your birthday.
Dana and her “girls” or her “guy friends” were always organizing the next event, another occasion, or a new way to be together with friends and family. Her “Fire Family” had a very special place in her heart.
Dana is survived by her parents, Hal and Cindy (Easton) Fjeldsted of Fort Frances, Ont.; brothers, Andrew (Krista and son Aiden) and Christopher of Red Lake, Ont.; aunts and uncles, Thor and Dixie Fjeldsted of Lethbridge, Alta., John and Madge Feldsted of Winnipeg, Man., Donna Easton of Bossevain, Man., Dawn and Lorne Hayes of Atikokan, Ont., Bill and Jeanette Easton of Fort Frances, Ont., and Laurel and Al Basaraba of Fort Frances, Ont.
Dana will be missed by all her many cousins, especially her special friend, Kate Basaraba.
Dana was predeceased by her grandparents, Andres and Agnete Fjeldsted and Barb and Jack Easton; and by her uncle, Jim Easton.
A brief service will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at 4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Red Lake, followed by a celebration of Dana’s life.
Donations in memory of Dana may be made to the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Too young, too soon, the world will never be the same.
