DAN STEWART BILBEN

Dan Stewart Bilben, 64, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Falls Memorial Hospital in International Falls.
Born Nov. 16, 1943 at Bemidji, Mn., Dan moved to International Falls at an early age and was a lifelong resident of the Falls. He graduated from Falls High School in 1962 and went on to graduate with honours from the Bemidji State University in 1972 with a BA degree in business.
Dan was an outstanding baseball player in college and later was involved in starting the slo-pitch league in the Falls. He was a carpenter by trade and in his spare time enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, basketball, baseball, and spending time with his six grandchildren.
He had a great sense of humour and was well-known for his wit.
Dan was a member of the International Falls Moose Lodge.
He was predeceased by his parents, Beatrice (McCormick) and Lyle Bilben;  sisters, Kathleen Bilben and Diane (Bilben) Kropp; and his special friend, Sherry Hanson.
Dan is survived by his sons, Scott (Alanna) Bilben of Blaine, Mn. and Derek (Regan) Bilben of International Falls, Mn.; daughter, Shelly (Mark) Bilben of International Falls, Mn.; and six grandchildren, Kelsey, Katlyn, Riley, Jack, Jillian, and Brooks.
Also surviving are his brothers, Pete (Beverly) Bilben of Coon Rapids, Mn. and Paul “Bucky” (Julie) Bilben of International Falls, Mn.; sister, Pam (Bob) Sartor of Faribault, Mn.; and brother-in-law, Denny Kropp of Menomonie, Wis.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. at the Green-Larsen Mortuary in International Falls.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 27, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in International Falls, with Pastor Larry Connors officiating.
Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in International Falls.
In memoriam donations are preferred to the International Falls Moose Lodge.
