Dale Rodney Rousseau

After a courageous battle with cancer, Dale Rodney Rousseau peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at his residence in Winnipeg, Man.
He was born April 3, 1958.
Dale was predeceased by an infant brother, David, in February, 1956; and his father, Oliver “Bud” Rousseau in June, 1987.
He was united in marriage from August, 1984 to August, 1987 to April McMillan. Together, they shared in the joy of their first-born child, Jenelle.
In November, 1987, Dale then was married to Louise (nee Hatfield) of Dryden, Ont.
He will be sadly missed by his three children, Jenelle Luckman of Medow Pit, B.C., and Kimberly and Rodney of Vermilion Bay, Ont.
Also surviving are his mother, Winniefred Rousseau of Winnipeg, Man.; brothers, Gerry (Barbara), Robert (Wendy), and Kenneth (Lori), and sister, Annette (Garry) Mallory, all of Fort Frances, Ont., and brother, William (Tiia) of Nakina, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews from Fort Frances and two great nieces of Emo, Ont.
Dale enjoyed his friends and family. He loved country music and playing the guitar. He loved the outdoors, not only for social enjoyment but for work.
He worked for several logging contractors, and spent the summers building cabins and docks throughout the Rainy Lake area.
Dale was a free-spirited soul who’d give the shirt off his back if he thought your need was greater than his need. He loved giving of himself to make others smile.
His memory will linger in the hearts of so many people’s lives he touched throughout his earthly stay. Thank you for who you were and for what you have given to so many. We will never forget you.
A memorial service was held Thursday, July 4, 2002 at Our Lady of Lourdes First Nations Church at Couchiching First Nation, with cremation to follow at a later date.
If friends so desire, donations may be made towards a trust fund for Kimberly and Rodney Rousseau in c/o Gerry Rousseau, 1204 Strachan Pl., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3S9.
