COURTNEY ARICA JACK (Saagaajweyaashiik)

Sadly, on Sunday, April 26, 2009, Courtney Arica Jack of Fort Frances, Ont. passed away at the age of 23.
She was born April 4, 1986 in Fort Frances.
Courtney was a special person who was very soft-spoken but strong-hearted, and loved to spend time with her friends. Her most special times were with her son, Caden, whom she adored very dearly.
As a young girl, Courtney enjoyed traditional dance and also enjoyed attending pow-wows within the local area.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Caden James McGinnis; parents, Vernon Tuesday (Laura Major) and Caroline Jack; sister, Ashley Jack; brothers, Vernon and Patrick Jack, and Darren Copenace, Daniel Copenace, and Sean Smith; step-sisters, Jenny, Teri, and Cindy Major; and step-brother, Scott Major.
Loved granddaughter of Clara Jack; and dear niece of Virgina Tuesday, Kevin Tuesday, Carl Tuesday Jr., Dean Jack, and Joe Jack.
Courtney also is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Ronald Jack, and Carl and Marie Tuesday.
A traditional wake was held Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 3 p.m. at the Mikinaak School gymnasium in Onigaming First Nation, Ont., where a traditional service was held Friday, May 1, 2009 at 10 a.m., with Elder Steve Johnson officiating.
Interment took place in Onigaming First Nation Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Carl Tuesday, Kevin Tuesday, Scott Major, Patrick Jack, Vernon Jack, Darren Copenace, Cody McGinnis, and Justin McGinnis.
