CORNELIS SWART

Cornelis Swart, 67, of Miscampbell, Ont., passed away Monday, April 13, 2000 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
He was born April 29, 1932 in Lutjebroek, Holland to the late Cornelis Sr. “Cees” and Annie Swart.
Cornelis came to Canada in 1972, and was employed by the former Great Lakes Forest Products in Thunder Bay until his retirement in 1990. On Aug. 31, 1989, Cornelis was united in marriage to Denise Simard.
He was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances. Cornelis also was a great gardener, and also a man who loved children.
He was predeceased by his brother, Arie Swart; his sister, Sjaan Kes Swart; and three brothers, Paul, Jan, and Klaas Swart.
Surviving is his wife, Denise, the love of his life; three sisters, Truus Van der Berg in Holland, Annie Boon of Fort Frances, Ont., and Afra Van Leeuwen of Holland; brother, Henk Swart of Holland; sister, Marion Heisner of Los Angeles, Cal.; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Swart of Winnipeg, Man., and Tiny Swart of Holland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 6, 2000 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances. Father Eugene Whyte O.M.I. will officiate, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Vigil prayers will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 5, 2000 at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Ivone Biron, Fred Boon, John Boon, Ed Swart, Richard Boon, and Pete Boon.
