CONRAD SIRAKY

Conrad Siraky, 87, of 536 Second St. W., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
He was born May 25, 1916 in Franzfeld, Yugoslavia to the late Conrad and Katherine Siraky. In August, 1928, Conrad moved to Canada and settled in Gladstone, Man. In 1930, he moved to Stratton, Ont., where he farmed and cut pulpwood.
On Oct. 2, 1969, he was united in marriage to the former Katherine Perkins, and later in 1978, they moved to Fort Frances.
Conrad had worked for George Armstrong Co. for 18 years as driller, blaster, and later as drill foreman. He also had worked in construction for 21 seasonal years, of which 15 of those were for George Armstrong Co., until his retirement in 1981.
Conrad enjoyed gardening, walking, fishing, and the outdoors in general.
He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine Siraky in 1992; and one brother, Fredrick Siraky.
Conrad is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Michl and Katherine Schulz, both of Fort Frances, Ont.; special friend, Luella Katona of Fort Frances, Ont.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Rev. Marietta Marshall will officiate, with interment in Pineridge Cemetery in North Branch, Ont.
Pallbearers will be Robert Schulz, Bill Michl, Art Miller, Charlie Miller, Dan Pollard, and Carman Neilson.
