CONRAD JOSEPH MORRISEAU

Conrad Joseph Morriseau, 71, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Sunday, May 29, 2005 at the Falls Memorial Hospital in International Falls following his courageous battle with prostate cancer.
Conrad was born April 11, 1934 at Couchiching First Nation, Ont. to William and Roseanna Morriseau. He was united in marriage to Judy Anderson on Sept. 22, 1990.
He retired from U of M Security after 16 years. He also had a variety of other jobs, from working in a sawmill to taxi cab driver, night watchman on ore ships, facilitator and counsellor for A.A., bear wrestler, and construction worker.
Conrad was very proud of his 30 years of sobriety and all his years serving in A.A., helping many men and women who had followed in his path. He especially enjoyed helping youngsters with his wise advice and support.
Conrad made himself available at all hours of the day and night.
He enjoyed pow-wows, barbecues, sitting around bonfires, travelling, and watching his beloved Minnesota Twins. He also loved native art, playing solitaire on the computer, and fishing in the company of his old friends.
He was involved in the Accountability Coalition for Native People, and he was strong in his conviction of his Christian faith.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Roseanna Morriseau; two brothers; and seven sisters.
Conrad is survived by his wife, Judy; sisters, Lucy and Josephine Bruyere; many cousins, nieces, and nephews too numerous to mention; his very special extended family, Lyle and Adelle Mortenson and their children, Matthew, Andrew, and Melissa, Arnie and Pam Baumchen, Greg Bird, Clarence Jourdain and Mary, Albert Morrison and Carla, Ann and ack Barslow, and Jim and Bev Bierwerth and family; and many, many friends throughout his years in A.A.
A visitation and fellowship service will be held Thursday, June 2, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. at the recreational centre at Couchiching First Nation, with Fr. Elmer Mainville officiating.
