Ozhowashko Anakwadok

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen Perreault (Ozhowashko Anakwadok), who passed away on October 19, 2025, surrounded by her family. Colleen was born on March 20, 1950, at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ontario, to Louis Mainville and Mildred Bryuere. She was lovingly raised by her dad, Louis and step-mom Donalda (Dee) Mainville.

Colleen was a proud member of the Bear Clan. She was predeceased by her father Louis, stepmom Dee; Aunty Marci; and siblings Tracy Trudel and Louann Mainville; and brother-in-law Ralph Pietila.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 56 wonderful years, Gilbert Perreault, and their four sons — Clint (Leanne), Jason (Tanny and Verna), Brent (Beulah), and Ian (Amanda and Sarah), and two fur-babies Maggie and Lil’ John — who meant the world to her.

Colleen was a devoted kokum (grandmother) and great-kokum, who took great pride in her large and loving family. She leaves behind her grandchildren Dennis Morrison, Tanner (Nicole) Perreault, Jordan (Jesykah) Perreault, Damon Perreault, Jacob-Ty Perreault, Des Perreault, Alexis (Brandon) Gustafson, Brent Perreault Jr., Callie Perreault, Kaidence Perreault, Gemma Perreault, Harlow Perreault, Chiles Perreault, Carter Anderson, Gracelyn Perreault, Caleb Perreault, and Nate Perreault.

She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Ashden Bombay, Alex Bombay, Maia Perreault and Éowyn Perreault.

She will also be missed by her numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Colleen is survived by her siblings Michael (Deb) Mainville, Leisha (Darren) Kozier, Timothy (Kip) Mainville, Ginny (Liz) Mainville, Sara (Tracy) Mainville, Norma Pietila, Arlene Lockman-Bruyere, Bill Lockman, and Norman-Pernell (Claudia) Lockman.

Together with her husband Gilbert, and her in-laws Robert and Cathy Perreault, Colleen was the proud owner of CC Complex, where she worked hard and created lasting friendships throughout the years.

Colleen will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the love she showed to everyone around her. Her home and heart were always open to family and friends, and her legacy will live on in all who loved her.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Brent Jr., Damon, Jacob-Ty, Jordan, Brandon, and family friend Terry Krawchuk.

Honourary pallbearers will be all of her granddaughters.

A wake will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Couchiching Multi-Use Facility. The funeral will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Forever loved and remembered by all who knew her.
