CODY SHEBAGEGIT

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cody Shebagegit, beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend began his journey to the spirit world.

Cody was born to Christopher Shebagegit and Cheryl Redsky on November 15, 1986, at La Verendrye hospital in Fort Frances.

He will be lovingly remembered by his common law partner Rosetta Skead. He was predeceased by his mother Cheryl; and his grandparents Evelyn Redsky and Cecil Redsky, Beverly Shebagegit and Joseph Shebagegit Sr.

Loved ones that will miss Cody until they meet again are his father Christopher (Margaret); sister Evelyn; brother Kyle (Kookum Grace); his aunts and uncles Lisa, Crystal (Gary), Starla (Travis), Joseph, Brian, Lynn, Herman, Galen, Neil (Amanda); cousins Dakota, Trent (Kayla), Keirsten (Keenan), Brianna, Galen Jr, Braven, Alex, Julie, Evangeline, Devyn, Brandyn, Joshua, Riley, Darrin, Corey, Serene; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

After graduating from high school, Cody went on to study at Nipissing University. Cody held a position at Baibombeh Anishinaabe School for years. He had an extraordinary caring heart and would make every conceivable effort to make sure his students succeeded. Cody poured his heart and soul into working with students, parents and staff.

His smile and quick witted personality never went unnoticed. He liked to tease and laugh as he talked and socialized with everyone he encountered. Some of his favourite things to do were watching his Winnipeg Jets as well as fishing and hunting with family and friends.

All family members and friends present will be pallbearers.

Visitation took place on Monday, August 22, at 3:00 and a traditional service will take place at Onigaming First Nation/Mikinaak School on Tuesday, August 23, at 10:00 a.m. Elder Howard Copenace from Naotkamegwanning will conducting the wake and the traditional ceremony.
