CLIFFORD STANLEY McLEOD

It is with great sadness that the family of Clifford Stanley McLeod, 90, of Devlin, Ont. announces his passing on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Cliff was born Sept. 17, 1913 in Rainy River, Ont. He grew up in the Rainy River area and had worked various odd jobs before joining the Canadian Army in June, 1942.
He served overseas and returned home in 1946.
Cliff worked for a customs outpost south of Quetico during the summer and then joined the staff in Fort Frances as a custom officer. He retired in 1977.
He was united in marriage to Cornelia Vos on Feb. 17, 1962. Cliff had bought a small farm in Devlin, Ont. and enjoyed puttering around it.
He leaves behind his wife, Corry; daughter, Luella and husband, Jack Kellar, of Devlin, Ont.; son, Dean McLeod of Thunder Bay, Ont.; grandchildren Kyle, Matthew, Joseph, Kennedy, Blake, Felica, Dylan, Travis, and Jeffery; sister, Mary Patrick of Toronto, Ont.; niece, June Lyons of Port Hardy, B.C.; and numerous extended family.
Cliff was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Luella McLeod; son, Rodney in 1983 and daughter, Christina; siblings, Earl, Gracie, Marg, Gladys, Ken, Gordon, and David; brothers-in-law, Coos, Garret, and Guy Vos; and sister-in-law, Metta Visser.
A memorial service was held Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Marietta Marshall officiating.
Cremation took place at Riverside Crematorium in Thunder Bay, and interment will take place in the Devlin Cemetery in Devlin at a later date.
