It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear father, brother, uncle, relative, and friend, Clifford Bob (Poombaanakwat), on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. His dodame is Elk (Atik).
He was born Jan. 11, 1947.
Clifford was predeceased by his wife, Anne (Hall) Bob; father, Jim Bob; mother, Rosie (Madden) Bob; brother, Jerry Joseph (Chuckaloo) Bob; nieces, Margaret Bob, Laura Prince, and Sayla Bob; and great-nieces, Arizona, Shania, and Sacha Bob.
He leaves behind his daughters, Megan Bob and Erin Elizabeth Bob (Ryan Truter); son, Darryl Bob; brothers, Delford (Dolly), James, and Robert (Bernice); sister, Roseanna (Cowley); grandson, Quillan James Bob; and numerous nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.
He enjoyed the great outdoors, such as hunting, fishing, and trapping, and spending time with his grandson, Quillan.
Clifford was a pilot at St. Andrew’s Air Service in Winnipeg, Rusty Myers in Fort Frances, and Northwest Flying Service in Nestor Falls.
He was the director of services of Anishinaabeg of Kabapikotawangag Resource Council (Sioux Narrows), trapper co-ordinator at Grand Council Treaty #3 (Kenora), and was New Relations at Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation and recently mining co-ordinator at AKRC.
A wake was held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Onigaming First Nation gymnasium.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10 a.m., followed by the traditional services by elder Gilbert Smith of Naicatchewenin First Nation.
The services were followed by a meal at the Onigaming gymnasium.
The pallbearers were Raymond Shebagegit, Joseph Copenace, James Spruce (Kelly), Vincent Kelly Sr., Tom Copenace, and Patrick Copenace.
The honourary pallbearers were all the rest of his male and female relatives.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Onigaming Cemetery.
