Clarence J. “Kaki” Cousineau, 79, of 510 6th St., International Falls, Mn., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001 at Falls Memorial Hospital in International Falls.
He was born May 10, 1922 in Fort Frances, Ont., where he spent his early years and graduated from high school. He moved to International Falls in 1942, and had lived there ever since. He was united in marriage to the former Rose NiColas in 1947 in International Falls.
He also served in the U.S. Navy, and was stationed in Panama.
Clarence worked for Boise Cascade for 34 years as a millwright, retiring in 1984.
He played hockey in his early years. He also loved golfing, biking, log-rolling, and bowling. He enjoyed all sports.
He was a member of the V.F.W., Cooties, and a lifetime member of the Moose. He also was a past member of the Knights of Columbus with the St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Clarence was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Rose Cousineau; and brothers, John and Earl Cousineau.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; daughters, Terrol Cousineau of Duluth, Mn., and Bonnie Mooney of Kelowna, B.C.; and grandchildren, Michelle, Cody, and Cristy Mooney.
Also surviving are his brother, Virgil Cousineau of Fort Frances, Ont.; sister, Arzella Jerome of International Falls, Mn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 2001 from 6-8 p.m. at Green-Larsen Mortuary in International Falls, with vigil prayers at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral services, with full military rites, will be held Saturday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls, with interment in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
