CLARENCE CHARLES BRENNAN

Clarence Charles ‘Clare’ Brennan, 85, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23 1997 at Golden Links Lodge, Winnipeg, Man., after a lengthy illness.
He was predeceased by his wife, Avonia (Speed).
He is survived by his daughter, Carolynne. Also surviving are his sister, Helen Kirkpatrick of Edmonton; brother, Bert (Marg) of Kenora and Pt. Charlotte, Fl.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Cliff (Ardella); and his sister, Frances (Bill) Tokar.
Clare began his business career in Crystal Palace Jewellers in Winnipeg. He later moved to Fort Frances, Ont., opening Brennan’s Jewellers in 1945. After selling his business in 1975, he moved back to Winnipeg and worked for Birks Jewellers and Bennett Lindsey Jewellers Ltd. until he retired.
Clare was a member of the Provost Corps of Khartum Temple. He has been a member of the Shrine for 51 years.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998 at 10:45 a.m. at Golden Links Lodge in Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Clare’s memory to the Special Activities Department of Golden Links Lodge, 2280 St. Mary’s Rd., Winnipeg, Man., R2M 4A5.
