CLAIRE CORRIGAN

In loving memory of Claire Corrigan, 95, of Emo, Ont., who passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003 at the Emo Health Centre in Emo.
Claire was born Oct. 27, 1907 in Kennedy, Sask. to Arthur and Annie West. She moved to the Emo area in 1914, settling on a farm in Barnhart.
On July 2, 1926, she was united in marriage to George Corrigan and together they moved to Emo. They raised their family in Emo and on the family farm in Barnhart.
Claire was a homesteader at heart—she was very handy with a sewing needle, and loved to can and garden. She was a true pioneer lady. Claire also loved to sing and play the piano, both at church and at home with family.
She was a giving and caring lady who always was doing things for her family.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Ted and wife, Jean, of Emo, Ont.; daughter, Aileen and husband, Glenn Rudd, of Combs, B.C.; daughter-in-law, Phyllis; five grandsons; five granddaughters; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Alexander of Thunder Bay, Ont. and Gertrude MacMillan of Emo, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Claire was predeceased by her parents; husband, George; sons, Gilbert and Kenneth; grandson, Randy Rudd; brothers; Hugh, Leonard, and Manson West; and sisters, Eleanor Stone and Sylvia Olsen.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Emo, Ont., with Pastor Andrew Hall officiating.
Interment in Emo Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Pallbearers were Alfred Olsen, Paul Olsen, Lindsay Corrigan, Bradley Corrigan, Murray Corrigan, and Gordon Woods.
