It is with deep sadness that the family of Christine Mary (“Christi”) Polz announces her passing on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at La Verendrye General Hospital.
Christi was born on Monday, Nov. 13, 1950 in Fort Frances, Ont. and had lived here all her life.
In her younger years, she enjoyed helping her mother at home with the housework, cooking, and gardening. She also enjoyed doing puzzles and loved her cats.
In 1973, she travelled to Germany, where she was able to visit her extended family.
Left to cherish her memory is her father, Edward; and brother, Gerry, and wife, Mary, and nephew, Raymond, all of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving are her aunts, Irene Nolte, Pauline Schneider, and Helene Forsterling, all of Germany; as well as many cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother, Stefania Polz (Greger).
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Fr. Victor De Gagné will officiate, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 7-8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Vigil prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m.
The pallbearers will be Larry Kivimaki, Ray Stewart, Raymond Polz, Nick Shepanski, Tom Foley, and Muarray Hogan.
