Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Charlie passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on May 26, 2004 after a short illness.
Charlie was born in Pinewood, Ont. to Antoine and Florrie Lauzon on Aug. 7, 1923.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Philip, Gordon, Jim, Willie, and Ben; sister, Ruby; and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, and uncles.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Mary (Bessie) of 51 years; son, Brent, (Kim); daughter, Jackie (Gary); grandchildren, Fran, Adam, Jillian, and Trevor; twin sister, Clara; sisters, Violet, Judy, Florrie, Edna, and Shirley (Sylvester); brother, Albert (Michelle); sisters-in-law, Minnie, Violet, Yvette, and Adeline; brothers-in-law, Melvin (Annie), Terry (Eileen), and Ken; Aunt Myrtle; and many nieces and nephews.
Charlie served his country overseas in World War II as an M.P. After the war, he helped his mother farm in Pinewood.
He met Bessie Armstrong and they were married on June 12, 1952 in Fort Frances, Ont.
He worked for the C.N.R. for 28 years and settled in Winnipeg, Man. in 1957, where he retired in January, 1983 and enjoyed many years of fishing.
Prayers were held Sunday, May 30, 2004 at 7 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, May 31, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, with Brother Jorge Villegas officiating.
Interment followed at Assumption Cemetery.
