Chanteya Cheryl Jones, infant daughter of Michael Jones and Candace Perrault, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Ont.
She was born July 10, 1997 in Fort Frances, Ont.
Chanteya was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Margaret Perrault; paternal great-grandfather, John Jones Sr.; paternal aunt, Shirlee Jones; paternal uncle, Joe Potson; maternal cousin, Payton Perrault; and paternal cousin, Cheyenne Jones.
She is survived by her parents, Michael and Candace; one sister, Breanna Jones; maternal grandfather, Leslie Perrault; paternal grandfather, Norman Allan Jr. and wife, Lois Allan; paternal great-grandparents, Norman and Patricia Allan; paternal grandmother, Becky and husband, Arnold Kingbird; paternal great-grandmother, Nancy Jones; and by numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles, all of Nicickousemenecaning First Nation, Ont.
A traditional burial ritual was held Monday, Feb. 22, 1999 at 10 a.m. at the Nicickousemenecaning First Nation gymnasium. Elder Gilbert Smith officiated, with interment in Nicickousemenecaning First Nation Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terry Allan, Dustin Tuesday, Brian Jones, and Alain Tanguay.
