CECILE MARIE ASSELIN

On Friday, June 25, 2004, Cecile Marie Asselin was escorted home to heaven to be reunited with her parents, Albert and Helen Chabot; her first husband, James Abbott, and her late husband, Dona Asselin; her two children, Billy and Betty Lou; and her siblings, Fernard, Teresa, Blanche, Marcel, Arthur, and Emile.
She passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 74 in Cochrane, Alta.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Beverley and husband, Glen; daughter, Margret; grandchildren, Billy and wife, Patricia, Kristie, and Nicole; and great-grandchildren, Giuliana and Dean.
Cecile also is survived by her sister, Rose; brothers, Cyril (Eleanor), Paul (Roberta), and Robert (Julia); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cecile was born June 25, 1930 in Fort Frances, Ont., where she lived all of her life except for the last three years, when she was in the care of her daughter in Cochrane.
On July 21, 1982, Cecile was united in marriage to “Dona” Asselin.
She loved fishing, crafts, travelling, and flowers. Cecile also was actively involved with the Salvation Army in Fort Frances.
Daughter Beverley and her husband, Glen, along with grandchild, Nicole, will bring her home to the town she loved, Fort Frances, and lay her to rest on July 8, 2004.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Stephen Laing officiating.
Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Those whom she loved, and those who loved her, are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
