CATHERINE BERGLUND

An angel has been called to Heaven.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Catherine Berglund at the age 81.
Catherine passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, with her family by her side, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Catherine was born March 3, 1932 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Edmond and Florence Vellieux, and she was raised one of six children.
Catherine grew up in Fort Frances, where she attended school, before later moving to Thunder Bay, where she was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital until retirement.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, travelling, and her favourite, The Shopping Channel.
Catherine is lovingly remembered by her sons, Guy (Bernetta) Wihnan, and Brian and Neil Berglund; daughters, Beverly Gingras and LeeAnne Berglund (Tyler); sister, Larrayne Muloin; and brother, Raymond Vellieux.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Cathy, Cindy, Crystal, Darrin, Robin, Miranda, Edward, Kyle, Stephen, and Matthew; great-grandchildren, James, David Abigail, Blake, Dillon, Gavin, Alisha, Jarod, Zachary, Ariel, Chimarisa, Teighn, Damion, and Ashton; great-great-grandchildren, Sapphire, Tyler, and Ariana; and many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was predeceased by her parents, Edmond and Florence (Rounds) Vellieux; husband, Helmer Berglund; infant brother, Sunny; sisters, Arlene (Alphonso) Dutillio and Lois (Dennis) Dalseg; infant daughter, Marion; son-in-law, Bob Gingras; and daughter, Gail Belair.
Cremation has taken place and a family gathering will be held as a celebration of life in Fort Frances in the spring of 2014.
A notice will be posted at a later date.
