Lynne Wiebe passed away Thursday, February 23rd at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with family by her side.
She was born October 19, 1953 to Joan and Bill Cross.
After graduating Fort Frances High School Lynne moved to Winnipeg where she met and married Bill. Together they had 3 children, Tommy, Kelly and Mac. Lynne worked for the Board of Education for all but a few years of her adult life.
Lynne was a loving mother to Tommy, Kelly and Mac (Amy), and a very proud Grandma of Kyle and Gwen, and her favorite little red-haired girl Abby, and Abby’s sister Emma.
Lynne will be greatly missed by her siblings, Cheryl (Jay) Handberg, Wendy (Don) Potter, Tom (Sandi), Karen (Mark) Hagen, Michael (Kayleen), Pat and sister-in-law Pam, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lynne was predeceased by parents Bill and Joan Cross, sister Nancy and brother-in-law Robert Howden, and brother Brad.
We’re sure room has been made for her at their card table for a game or two of cribbage.
Lynne decided early on in her illness that when her body was no longer needed as her vessel, she would like to help fight the battle for a cure for cancer.
She has been accepted by the Human Autonomy and Cell Science Body Bequeathed Program at The University of Manitoba. She will be their guest for two or more years. At the end of her tenure cremation will take place and she will return to her family. We are all so very proud of her!
At Lynne’s request there will be no funeral, just a small family gathering to celebrate her life and share memories. Should you wish to make a donation in Lynne’s honour to any branch of The Canadian Cancer Society we know she would be most grateful.
We love you Lynne.
