CAROL LOUISE BOURRE

Carol Louise Bourre, 54, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away suddenly Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Many things to many people, Carol was a loving and devoted companion to Everett, whom she enjoyed nearly 31 years together. She was a superb mother to her sons, Pearse and Andy.
Carol is survived by her mother, Joy Bourre; two brothers, Doug and wife, Linda, and Drew and wife, Denyse; two sisters, Betty and husband, Cal Radbourne, and Joy Anne and husband, Gary Tolen; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
She was born Dec. 26, 1948 in Rainy River, Ont. Carol’s public and high school years were spent in Rainy River, then on to Thunder Bay to become an RN, graduating in 1970 from McKellar Hospital School of Nursing.
Carol then explored big city nursing in both Windsor Metropolitan Hospital and later at Sick Children’s in Toronto, before returning to the Rainy River District.
Her nursing career here was split between Riverside Health Care Facility and Rainycrest Home for the Aged.
She loved to create things in her sewing area for family and friends. All new arrivals to Carol’s family were blessed with their own personalized baby quilt.
Carol was a voracious reader, and also spent endless hours in her vegetable and flower gardens. Nobody loved to visit Carol more than her great-nieces, Hailey and Tory.
She was predeceased by her father, Alf Bourre on March 20, 1985.
Carol cherished her family; her passing has left, and will continue to leave, an empty spot in all our hearts.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Knox United Church in Fort Frances, with Rev. Marietta Marshall officiating.
Family and close friends attended a graveside service at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River.
Pallbearers were Jeanne Stevens, Gloria Soderholm, Sharon Larocque, Diane Leek, Sherry Bonner-Vickers, and Joan Lakatos.
