Candace loved her favourite sports baseball, volleyball, and golf with her Dad and friends. During her season of baseball she became a pitcher and learned from her Dad the famous knuckle ball. She was always a little prankster to her mom and showing her videos on facebook. She also enjoyed being on the lake fishing or swimming with her nieces and nephews. She loved spending time with her nephews and nieces whether it was quading, beach fun or just cuddling and telling stories, she was one of a kind Aunty.
She loved school and was part of the Rainy River Owls Volleyball Team along with her sister Roxanne. She graduated in Winnipeg Business Administration in the aboriginal field along side with Dailen. Later worked for her community with Housing along with Dave Carney, she loved working along side with AON staff.
When she was off her Aunty duties, she would go visit her friends Sammy, Charity, Tamara, Ashley and her woodtick Brendan and hang out or go weekends golfing. She loved to sing with Rob, always shared a good life with him.
She always had a big heart and took care of everyone when needed and especially loved to cook, her favourite dish was rice pudding. She loved kids and always had her way with them….playing, weird funny stories and always loved them up.
A traditional wake will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Big Island First Nation Gymnasium, with a traditional service on Thursday, May 7 at 10:00 p.m. also at Big Island First Nation Gymnasium.
