CAMILLA WHITECROW

It is with great sadness that the family of Camilla Whitecrow announce her passing on December 4, 2025, at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.

Camilla was born in Fort Frances, Ont., on July 4, 1970, to parents Howard and Doris Willie and was raised in Seine River First Nation.

Camilla enjoyed fishing, trapping, camping and rice picking. She raised her nine children in Lac La Croix. She returned to Seine River in 2008.

She was deceased by her parents; grandparents Joe and Irene Whitecrow, Eckley and Mary Willie; husband Fred Sr. Ottertail and brother Sheldon Whitecrow- Rudy Whitecrow; sister Lorraine (Mark) Derman; brother-in-law John Cochrane; and infant baby boy, numerous cousins, aunties and uncles on both sides of the family. And we can’t forget her grand fur baby ZoeZoe.

She is survived by brother Ringo (Phyllis) and his children RJ and Haley, sister Darlene (Darlene’s children Dawn, Tom and Jake) and her children Dorion, Jeremiah, Philip, Victoria (Patrick A)., Fred Jr., Deserae (Richard B), Jade (Joel I), Howard and Clara. Camilla also leaves behind her many grandchildren (Victoria’s) Evans, Sophie and Odessa; (Des’s) Caleigh, Arturo, Kolten and Carleigh; (Dorion’s) Joanne, Izzy, Dorion, Lexa and Presley; (Fred’s) Aurora; (Clara’s) Clarabel.

A traditional wake was held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Seine River First Nation Gymnasium at 3:00 p.m. with traditional service the following day at 10:00 a.m.
