It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Reid on Saturday, July 6, 2019.
Born and raised in Emo, Ont., Brian was a fixture in the Emo Community for many years as co-owner of Fairway Store and then as a butcher at Cloverleaf.
You could always find Brian behind the meat counter, greeting you with a smile, friendly conversation, great stories and he was never afraid to give you his opinion.
Brian was a proud member of the Emo community, which he showed during his time as reeve from 1994-2000.
He was a hard working (some might say too hard working), simple man who was a surprisingly good cook and avid sports fan.
Brian was predeceased by his loving mother, Iris, father, Percy, and his loving partner, Gloria.
He’s survived by his daughters, Stacey (Darryl) and Jacquelyn (Matt); his step-children Christine (Brian) and Gary (Ashley); and his grandchildren.
He will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Brian would not have wanted a big fuss for a funeral, so we will be having a time of fellowship and remembrance at the Emo Royal Canadian Legion on Friday, July 19, 2019, from 1-3 p.m.
Family and friends are welcome to attend.
Private interment will take place in Fort Frances Cemetery.
If desired memorial donations may be made in memory of Brian to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0.
