Brian Dean Carlson

On Monday, May 5, 2003, Brian Dean Carlson, husband to Sharon and father to Angela, Anthony, Johnathon, and Richard, passed away at his home.
Funeral services were held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Friday, May 9, 2003 at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Steve Wilson officiating, with Brian’s final place of rest to be Kenora, Ont. at a later date.
Brian was born April 7, 1965 to Brian and Murrie Carlson in Kenora and later attended school in Fort Frances, Ont. Brian worked and lived in various places during his younger years, with two of his major accomplishments being as an owner-operator for Coca Cola in Northwestern Ontario and working at the Fort Frances paper mill, where he held three positions simultaneously during his tenure there.
Brian later made the decision to further his education and moved his family to Thunder Bay, Ont., where he attended Confederation College. He worked hard and received his diploma for Aviation Technician-Aircraft Maintenance in June, 1999.
Brian was employed by Field Aviation Company Inc. in Portage la Prairie, Man. until his death.
Brian was a loving father who spent many hours fishing and camping with his beloved family.
His quiet gentle manner enabled all to know him as a kind and caring person.
Brian was predeceased by his grandparents, Marguerite Williams, Bill Hoffmeister Sr., Mickey Rapinda, and Peter Hynbida; and great-grandmother, Florence Carlson.
He leaves to mourn his passing, along with his wife and children, his parents, Murrie Hoffmeister (Robert) and Brian (Anna) Carlson; sister, Lorrie (Brian) Cox;, brother, Blake; mother-in-law, Pat; brotherin- law, Ian;, grandparents; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He also will be greatly missed by his lifelong friend, Kirk Wihnan.
Should friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to a post-educational fund for Brian’s children through your local branch of the TD Canada Trust.
A bursary for the 2004-05 school year will be made, in Brian’s name by Sharon and the children, to a student furthering their education in Aviation Mechanics through Confederation College.
