BORIS JOHN KORCHAK

Boris John Korchak, 59, of 929 Victoria Ave. N., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
He was born Aug. 6, 1942 in Vita, Man. to the late Dmytro and Mary Korchak. Boris grew up and received his education in Vita. He later worked as an electrician in Winnipeg, Man. for a while.
On June 4, 1966, he was united in marriage to Josephine “Josie” Tetreault. Following their marriage, the family lived in Lac DuBonnet, Man. for about two years before returning to Vita, where Boris operated Korchaks Electrical with his brother, and later for La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances for 17 years.
He was predeceased by one son, Richard Korchak.
Boris is survived by his wife, Josie Korchak of Fort Frances, Ont.; one son, Dwayne Korchak and wife, Kaela, of Thunder Bay, Ont.; two grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary Korchak of Thunder Bay, Ont.; one brother, William “Bill” Korchak and wife, Rachel, of Pinewood, Ont.; and one nephew, Kevin Korchak of Pinewood, Ont.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances. Father Eugene Whyte O.M.I. will officiate, with interment in Pinewood Catholic Cemetery in Pinewood.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001 from 6:30 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Parish prayers will be offered at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Michael Beyak, Darrel Beyak, Marc Beaudry, Jamie Tetreault, Ed Cousineau, and Daymon Tetreault.
Honourary pallbearers will be Morris Beyak, Dennis Beyak, Doug Brigham, and Lawrence Tetreault.
