Former Fort Frances resident Bob McLennan passed away, at his residence in Wisconsin, on July 18, 2022, at age 97.
Bob moved to Fort Frances after graduating from University of Manitoba and serving in World War II with the Canadian Navy. He worked for the local paper company for over 20 years. He met and married the love of his life, the former Ila Frant.
Bob was told, upon his arrival to Fort Frances, by a local resident, that “once you drink the water from Rainy Lake you can never leave.” This proved to be true. The family moved to Wisconsin many years ago but have returned almost every summer to our cottage on Rocky Islet Bay. Special memories will be forever cherished by his children Jim and Riley and grandchildren Jack and Jamie.
Bob will join Ila at their final resting place in Riverview Cemetery.
