On Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont., Blanche Ogden passed away peacefully. Blanche was born April 2, 1919 to Tom and Esther Bowman.
She was predeceased by her husband, Allan; her parents; brothers, Robert and Wesley; and sister, Beatrice.
Left to cherish Blanche’s memory are her son, Terry and wife, Barb; grandchildren, Alison and Jeffrey; sister, Leona Gosselin; and several nieces and nephews.
Blanche lived an extremely active life, enjoying a variety of sports, with curling being her number-one choice. She curled herself, travelled to several world championships in Canada, the United States, and abroad, and watched televised games with a keen interest.
Her grandchildren were very dear to her.
She spent her entire life in and around the Rainy River District, and lived in her own home until her recent illness.

Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 18, 2000 from 7-8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Allan, in the Riverview Cemetery.
