Blanche (Gosselin) Armit, 72, of 198 Ridgewood Dr., Chaska, Mn., passed away suddenly at her home Dec. 9, 2003.
She was born May 5, 1931 in St. Norbert, Man. to the late Arthur and Regina Paquin Gosselin. She moved to Fort Frances, Ont. with her family at a young age.
She later met and married David Armit, son of the late Alex and Leona Armit, in Fort Frances on Sept. 2, 1949.
They had two sons, Larry and Eddie. They moved to Minne-apolis, Mn. when the boys were in their pre-teens. While in Minneapolis, Blanche worked at Dayton’s for many years.
Then they retired and moved to Sun Lakes, Az. for several years, where she became an ardent golfer. They later returned to Chaska to be near their family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Art and Regina Gosselin; one granddaughter, Stacey Armit; one sister, Bette Carpenter; two brothers, Archie Gosselin and Ned Gosselin; father-in-law, Alex Armit; brothers-in-law, Dick Carpenter, Vernie Erickson, Phil Asselin, and John Wickstrom; and sister-in-law, Betty McBride.
Blanche is survived by her husband of 54 years, David of Chaska, Mn.; son, Larry (Dianne) of Rush City, Mn.; son, Edward (Lorri), and grandson, Andrew, of Waconia, Mn.; and one great-grandson, Alex of Minneapolis, Mn.
Also surviving are two sisters, Leona Asselin of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Verna Erickson of Denver, Colo.; mother-in-law, Leona Armit of Fort Frances, Ont.; four sisters-in-law, Dodee Wickstrom of Fort Frances, Ont., Joan (Bill) Krukoski of Fort Frances, Ont., Lynn (Jack) Armstrong of Crozier, Ont., and Lorraine Gosselin of Devlin, Ont.; three brothers-in-law, Ray (Leslie) Armit of Fort Frances, Ont., Dic (Roz) Armit of Dryden, Ont., and Bob McBride of International Falls, Mn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 at 11 a.m.
at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Chaska.
