BEVERLY MAY GODIN (nee JOHNSON)

Beverly May Godin (nee Johnson), 65, of Medicine Hat, Alta., passed away in hospital on Friday, May 8, 2009 with family at her side.
Beverly leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and four grandchildren, Pamela Godin of Tofield, Alta. and her three children, Crystal, Rachael, and Michael, Lisa (Rick) Vossler of Brooks, Alta. and their daughter, Jessica, of Red Deer, Alta., and Teresa “Terri” (Garth) Neitz of Medicine Hat, Alta.
Beverly also leaves behind two brothers, William (Peggy) Johnson of Fort Frances, Ont. and their three children and five grandchildren, and Robert (Peggy) Johnson of Emo, Ont. and their two children; as well as her late sister’s family, Bill Paterson, and their two children and five grandchildren.
Beverly was predeceased by her father, William Johnson Sr., and mother, Beatrice Johnson (nee Blakemore), both of Emo, Ont.; and her sister, Carolyn Paterson of Dryden, Ont.
Beverly was born Feb. 26, 1944 in Emo, where she was raised, and married Terry Godin of Rainy River, Ont. Following the birth of their first two daughters, they moved to Calgary, Alta., where their third daughter was born in 1970.
Six years later, they parted ways and Beverly continued to raise her daughters the best she could.
In October, 2006, Beverly moved to Medicine Hat to be closer to her most beloved daughter, Teresa (“Terri”), who visited every week offering her love, support, and patient kindness up to and including the day of her death.
Beverly had many personal struggles in her life. Her last three years were filled with medical and emotional ups and downs, but she faced them with courage and strength.
She had a love for animals, music, fun times, and good food with family and friends. She also had a sharp sense of humour and always had a witty comment close at hand.
A private family memorial will take place at a later date.
