Betty Louise Cawston, 89, of Fort Frances, ON passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Rainycrest Long Term Care.
Betty was born on December 7, 1932 to Phillip and Gladys Tivy in Emo, Ontario. She was united in marriage to the love her life Mihlan “Bung” Cawston on June 16, 1950. Together they raised 6 children. Betty and Bung purchased an island on Rainy Lake in 1966. They spent many years entertaining family, friends and many dogs. She worked for the Rainy River District School Board as well as Tichborne’s Insurance and eventually retired from Gillon’s Insurance. After retirement they travelled extensively throughout Canada and the US.
She is survived by her husband Mihlan and children Blake (Alana), Mike (Jaqueline) and their sons Josh and Brendan, Wendy (Ray) Crowe and their children Rebecca and Rob, Kevin (Jeannette) and their children Lucas and Lindsay, Brian (Nancy) and their son Zachary, Mark (Jennifer) and their children Jonah, Cameron and Julia and good friend Marg Kircher. She was also blessed with five great grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her parents Gladys and Phillip Tivy; brothers Morgan and Brian Tivy and sister Winona Morissette.
Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering of remembrance will be held at a later date.
