BETTY LOU LARSON (CROWE)

Larson, Elizabeth

It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Lou Larson announces her passing, with family by her side, on Friday, April 13, 2018 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Betty Lou was born on May 16, 1939 in Fort Frances to Fred and Agnes Crowe. She was the youngest of 11 children and her family grew as her siblings started their families.
Betty Lou loved spending time with her parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Betty Lou’s passion always has been children, starting with her job at the hospital’s nursery. She then was a stay-at-home mom to her three children, Mel, Curtis, and Debbie. She also babysat other children in her home, many of whom she formed very close bonds.
Her home was a gathering place for many of her children’s friends as youngsters and teenagers. They always were happy to see Betty Lou again.
She then became “grammie” to five grandchildren and “GG” to four great-grandchildren. These children were her pride and joy, and she attended all their special events.
Betty Lou was very creative, and enjoyed sewing and drawing. She also had a wonderful sense of humour and always was the life of the party.
She leaves behind her children, Mel (Melissa), Curtis (Tessa), and Debbie (Dan); grandchildren, Nina (Wayne), Bailey (Christian), Seth (Brittany), Shayna (Ryan), and Melanie; great-grandchildren, Bryden, Cohen, Taliah, and Lakelyn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty Lou was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Fred Crowe; brothers, Dan, Doug, Ben, David, and Wallace Crowe; and sisters, Ann Marie Bruyere, Rita Kielczewski, Janet Crowe, and Doreen Allan.
Her oldest brother, Tom Crowe, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018, only eight hours after Betty Lou’s passing. We believe he waited until his little sister had joined the rest of their brothers and sisters until he left.
A celebration of life took place Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Frances.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to Alzheimer Society Canada or the charity of your choice c/o Northridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 89, Emo, Ont., P0W 1E0.
Betty Lou is greatly loved and will be forever missed.
