BETTE (ELIZABETH) MARTINSON

Bette (Elizabeth) Martinson passed away peacefully, at the age of 95, on Monday, Oct. 31 in Winnipeg, Man.
Bette was born on May 5, 1921 in Raymore, Sask. to Philip and Katie Armbruster.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 39 years, Robert Martinson (1985); infant son, Marvin; brother, Frank; and sisters, Roxy, Annie, and Mary.
Bette is survived by her brother, Joey; son, Rob (Debbie); daughter, Sheryl (Peter); granddaughters, Amanda (Darla), Sara (David), Holly (JB), Heather (Brett), and Beth (Ben); numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to her; and seven great-grandchildren, Dane, Rogan, Sawyer, Evie, Ruby, Milan, and Rowan.
Mom was an avid bowler and won many trophies over the years. She was a founding member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances, Ont., where she always enjoyed singing in the choir.
She also was passionate about gardening and baking. Her garden always was full of beautiful flowers, especially her favourites (gladiolus), and she had a plentiful vegetable garden.
She was an expert cake decorator, having decorated hundreds of wedding, anniversary, and birthday cakes. Everyone enjoyed her many baked treats (pies, cookies, cakes, and cinnamon buns).
She also was a seamstress, making many clothes for herself and others.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Winnipeg, with a reception to follow.
