BERTRAND (BERT) KENTY

Bertrand (Bert) Kenty, 59, passed away suddenly on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. in Fort Frances, Ont. with his wife and family by his side.
Bert was born Oct. 31, 1950 in Sainte-Elizabeth-de-Prouix, Que. to Joseph-Henri Kenty and Rosebela Trembley.
Bert worked in the bush all his life, for logging companies in Quebec and Thunder Bay, and finally working for Godbout and Son Timber Ltd. of Fort Frances.
Bert was united in marriage to Janice Selman on Aug. 3, 2002.
He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and playing darts, horseshoes, karaoke, and Wii. And spending time with family and friends was very important to Bert.
He also was a valued member of the Fort Frances Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29.
Bert is survived by his wife, Janice, of Devlin, Ont.; son, Jacky (Julie) Kenty and Melanie and friend (Karoline) of Quebec; and stepdaughter, Veronica (Tom) Badiuk of Fort Frances, Ont.
He also will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Mikael, Emile, Daxxen, Zain, and Ariea.
He also is survived by his brothers, Charles-Henri (Armanda), Laurien (Denise), and Jean-Paul (Francoise); sisters, Hermance (Laureat), Yvonnette, Marguerite (Jean-Francois), and Rose-Ange (Mario); and sisters-in-law, Regeanne Gagnon and Lucie-Anna St. Gelais.
Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Jennette Cross; father-in-law, Irvin Selman; sister-in-law, Nancy Arbuckle; brothers-in-law, Walter Selman (Sharon), Dean Selman, Stanley Selman, Arthur Selman, and Cecil Selman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bert was predeceased by his parents, Joseph-Henri and Rosebela; and brothers, Paul-Armand, Lorenzo, and Jean-Marie.
Family and friends gathered for fellowship on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 from 1-3 p.m. at the Fort Frances Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29.
