BERT STEIG LINDHOLM
Bert S. Lindholm, 86, of Cloquet, Mn., passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007 at the Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Mn.
He was born April 7, 1920 in Morsil, Sweden to Victor and Anna (Persson) Lindholm, and they immigrated to Canada when Bert was five years old.
Bert served as a corporal in the Canadian Army for five years. He and his brother, Bruno, later owned and operated Columbine Lodge on Clearwater Lake for several years.
He then moved from Fort Frances, Ont. to Minnesota in 1953.
He was a member of the Canadian Legion; and loved hunting, fishing, looking for agates, and spending time with his younger brother, best friend, and buddy, Bob.
Bert was predeceased by his parents; and four brothers, Kurt, Rueben, Gus, and Ralph Lindholm.
He is survived by four brothers, Bruno (Mary) Lindholm of Fort Frances, Ont., Clifford (Ilene) Lindholm of Cloquet, Mn., Marvin (Irene) Lindholm of San Juan, Tex., and Robert (Isabelle) Lindholm of Cloquet, Mn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007 from 10-11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet.
Interment services will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, followed with a luncheon in the funeral home fellowship room.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or dementia research.
