Bernard (Pat) Brandrick, 83, passed away peacefully at Atikokan General Hospital in Atikokan, Ont. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003.
Bernard was born June 1, 1919 in Duck Lake, Sask. to Sarah and Ivan Brandrick. “Pat” worked at tourist camps on Lake of the Woods in his younger years, and later with carpenter crews in the Kenora, Ont. area.
He also worked for “Dingwall Motors” as an outboard mechanic.
Later, he started his own outboard shop by the name of “Pat’s Outboard,” and operated it until he and his wife retired from the business. Following their retirement, “Pat’s Outboard” continued under new ownership.
After the passing of his wife, Hazel, in 1988, Pat continued living in Kenora until moving to Atikokan two years ago due to poor health. While residing there, he stayed with his brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Sylvia Brandrick.
Pat is survived by one sister, Marie and husband, Arnold Haver, of Devlin, Ont.; three brothers, Eric Brandrick and Kenneth Brandrick, both of Devlin, Ont., and Henry Brandrick and wife, Sylvia, of Atikokan, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ont., with Rev. Frances Flook officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date.
