Benjamin Willard van Drunen, of Devlin, Ont., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Ben was born July 18, 1945 in Fort Frances to Grace Lavina (Fultz) and Peter Jacaminus van Drunen.
Ben married the love of his life, Constance (Connie) Simmons, on Jan. 11, 2002.
Ben will be forever remembered and missed by his wife, Connie, and their children, Bill van Drunen, Becca van Drunen, Paul Carrier (Jody), John Carrier (Aynsley), Kyle Carrier (Tracy), and Todd Carrier (Genevieve) Javier.
He also is survived by his brother, Robert Leonard van Drunen (Phyllis); sister; Lois Cooper; sisters-in-law, Phyllis van Drunen, Liana Brown (Dick Byrnes), and Cheryl (Bruce) Masson; brothers-in-law, Grant Simmons, Guy (Lois) Simmons, and Miles Brown; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ben was predeceased by his parents and grandparents; brothers, Cornelius Wesley (Sophie), Albert James (Alma), and Thomas Peter; brother-in-law, Harold Brown; and sisters-in-law, Carmen Simmons and Teresa Brown.
A celebration of Ben’s life was held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Devlin Hall in Devlin.
