BENJAMIN BROWN JR.

Tragically, as a result of an accident, the family announces the sudden passing of Benjamin Brown Jr. (“Bugs”), of Rainy River First Nation, Ont., on Saturday, June 8, 2013.
Ben was born Sept. 10, 1951 in Emo, Ont. to Ben and Elizabeth Brown.
Ben had a great love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time with his children and helping others where he could. Ben always had a smile for everyone, and was liked by everyone who knew him.
He served overseas in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.
Ben will be sadly missed by his mother, Elizabeth Brown; daughters, Amy Brown (Riel) of Winnipeg, Man., Riley Brown (Miles) of Rainy River First Nation, Ont., Rebecca Brown of Portland, Ore., Amanda Levesque of Fort Frances, Ont., and Hannah Meyers of Rainy River First Nation, Ont.; his son, Eugene Brown, of Portland Ore.; and his many grandchildren.
He also is survived by his siblings, Patsy Allen, Lucille Eldridge, Bernice Dohmen, Elaine Copenace, Lou-Ann (Murray) Bombay, and Evangeline Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ben was predeceased by his father, Ben Sr.; brothers, Roy, Eugene, Cecil, and Ernest Brown; and sister, Loretta Vivie.
A traditional wake was held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 4 p.m. at the Rainy River First Nation gymnasium, followed by a traditional service on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. Elder Harry Windego officiated.
Interment to follow.
The pallbearers were Doug Horton, Darryl Horton, Cal Bombay Jr., Mark Copenace, Alton Brown, and Vernon Horton.
The honourary pallbearers were Tony Copenace Jr., Joe Medicine, Todd Copenace, Garry Brown, Dennis Dohmen, Ben Dohmen, Eugene Brown, Gerry Brown, Ernest Brown, Steve Leonard, Brandon Brown, and Jack Hawk.
