It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Beatrice Loveday on July 3, 2008 at the Riverside Health Care Facility in Emo, Ont. at the age of 68.
Beatrice was born on August 18, 1939 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Ed and Ann Holborn.
In her earlier years Beatrice worked for Rainycrest doing home care. She also worked at various tourist camps on Lake of the Woods.
She enjoyed reading and watching her daily soap operas. She also loved listening to her country music, visiting with family and friends and loved hearing all about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. That would always put a smile on her face and brighten her day.
Beatrice always had her door open to anyone who needed a place to stay or something to eat. Her dish that everyone loved was her seven layer dinner. She always made her own bread and buns. Cookies and cakes were always from scratch, and her home often smelled like a bakery. She loved her children very much and always had to know what they were doing.
Beatrice is survived by her children Sandra (Ron) Ogier of Devlin, Ont., Glen (Michelle) and Gary Loveday of Fort Frances, Ont., Warren (Tammy), Keith and Lindsey Loveday all of Emo, Ont., and Todd (Renee Tookenay) Shaw of Thunder Bay, Ont.
She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Jason, Aaron (Amanda) and Ron Ogier, Chantele and Clinton Loveday, Sheldon Loveday, Charnel Loveday, Jesse Loveday, Zen, Isaiah and Vanessa Tookenay, John (Sonya), Mike (Lisa) McQuaker, and Angie (Garrett) Asselin; and great-grandchildren Cedar and Dayton Ogier, Kyle Ogier, Christopher and Taytum Stone, Jasmine, Brayden and Belle Holmes, Zoe and Paige Asselin.
She is also survived by her mother Ann Holborn; sisters Betty Cann and Irene (Terry) Pettis; brothers John (Dawn) Holborn and Clarence (Nancy) Holborn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was predeceased by her father Ed Holborn; son Morris Loveday, brother-in-law Allan Cann; great-grandsons Justin and Cameron Ogier; and granddaughter Hailey Loveday.
Family and friends were received at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont. on Sunday July 6, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Beatrice’s Life was held on Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Fort Frances, Ont. at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating. Interment took place in Emo Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren.
If desired memorial donations may be made to the Riverside Health Care Facility, Emo, Ont. c/o Northridge Funeral Home, box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0. Online condolences may be left at www.northridgefuneralhome.com
The angels came and took you home
You never made a sound.
You are now at peace with no more pain
Paradise you have found.
Your loved ones they will greet you
When you walk into the light.
For all the years you suffered
You no longer have to fight.
When you walk through heavens gates
You’ll feel so much at home.
When God looks down and smiles at you
From his great golden throne.
If we could re-live yesterday
Just even for awhile.
We’d say good bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
So when tomorrow starts without you
Don’t think we’re far apart.
For every time we think of you
You’ll be right here in our heart.
